https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/mrdonnierayg/you-aint-suppose-2-3

In March of the year 2020, I found myself ill and in need of medical attention. I had previously visited my PCP a week earlier. Test results had not come in yet, but my visit to the ER proved that there was no need for test results. The doctor confirmed a positive test result, anyway.

The most noticeable thing I can remember is when I read the Holy Bible and forget where exactly. I only say where because my Pastor would say to tell us the location so that we may see what you have cited. Most times, I am not able to write the area down. I am either driving or in a nonwriting position to take notes. I read a scripture saying: I will take you away from this land, and when I am ready, I will bring you back.

I only remembered this scripture months after returning to the hospital in my hometown. I had worked on this song months before going to the hospital. I remembered the song and thought I would release it soon! While sitting up in bed. I was like, wow! I need to drop that song. As soon as I could get to my mobile studio, I began to take the necessary steps to release my song. The song was far from perfect, but you can only possibly understand where I was coming from in my thoughts.

I had a miraculous recovery from having COVID-19. I read in scripture to where the Lord said that he woke me up with a dream. A dream that lasted for a month. Every moment, the dream lasted for moments at a time, it seemed. From what I was told, COVID wreaked havoc on my everything! I went from being a "Superman" to being a born-again baby. Literally, I went to sleep in one hospital, barely walking, and then waking up in the ICU, in another in adult diapers.

Because of the ventilation tubes, I couldn't talk with a voice yet, my regular voice. I was trying to eat ice, and one of the RNs said to me in excitement. You're a "Tuber!" You can't have that! I felt so much like a baby. I remember hearing the Lord say, what's wrong, mighty man? My reply to the Lord was, Mighty? I feel like the whimper of the moment. No strength! I always thought that this was one of my King Solomon moments. By saying this, he said that he realized that he knew nothing. This was a moment for me as well. I had always thought mighty man, meant physical strength alone, but Your spirit/soul must be vital for your mind and body to have strength. You will not realize such a thing until you are in such a position of thought, almost like self-realization.

I heard that in a movie before, and It seemed to fit. My take on it is that you don't know anything until you realize it. You can be the most knowledgeable person with absolute power, just like King Solomon. God said that there would not ever be another person like King Solomon. I believe that! There have been mighty Kings, Queens, and rulers in general, but none of them like Solomon. Still, though, I recognized that an influential person wasn't physically strong. Why? The Father God, the one true living God, is a multidimensional spirit existing in all periods and empowering all existence in life and in death.

Humans were created in the Most High God's image. Honestly, a spirit has no flesh, correct? Humans have a soul, this life and breath that was breathed into our nostrils as we are, and our bodies are made of a unique clay. Here is some proof: take a bath maybe many times over twice. You know you are clean, but look back at the tub and notice a film wash away. A minister at my church pointed that out, but I did notice that a time before it was said. I took the saying as a truth.

So now, here is my song. I call it "You Ain't Supposed 2." My definition of it is that many times I have or you may have heard another person speak on how your outlook of living your life, is wrong or maybe not evil. That your methods of thinking are incorrect to their ways. It is more about how we all do or find the solution to a problem. I will use what works best for me, and another person will do differently. For whatever reason, sometimes I hear, you did it wrong, but you still came up with the correct answer as I have. There is no wrong method as long as there is no cheating. Then, the problem was solved correctly .

Please enjoy, and most importantly, give us a comment.

Had I not ever said this…

Ok, I had to say this to my fellow artists and media creators. Watch out for the fast talkers. Instantly, I can get you money overnight, persons with only the thoughts of those who watch your pockets, and wow, you won't see it coming. You are focused on creating your art and protecting your craft, much more than taking care of business as best as possible.

Time has shown us that when you do not prioritize accurately and, at best, practice correctly. And no person will get it right on the first few attempts. Someone will; they already know the business. That saying practice makes perfect couldn't be more on point. I am not talking about business alone. However, it is crucial to learn finance and accounting. It is biblical. The Most High God, rules logically, not emotionally.

From my understanding, to lead in this manner, from my knowledge, it's all math, yet a combination of many things working alongside of logic; this is for another discussion. We need that mathematical thought process going on at all times. We do it when we are creating. I often start with a kick drum, then the snare. It should be the other way around, though. The snare keeps the entire song intact. You could say, that it is mathematically accurate. It is the logic in the music, not just timing, but its essence. If it's on time, but it has no appropriate amount of volume,

I have heard some songs, and some ballads with low-volume snares, but not in these days. The snare has got to be correct. It has to bring or pull you into the song. I did not have that in my music; the chords, bass, and melody were there, but the snare was lacking. The beats would get no love.

Anyway, I'm simply saying you need logical thinking when dealing with strangers or others that you are unfamiliar with. They are not going to have your heart in their best interest. I learn this the hard way. And really, at all times, you must make it a great practice thinking logically. Emotions are good, but What if I am too caught up in my feelings and do not think clearly? I will suffer, and that's precisely what happened: I suffered. I learned some valuable lessons in this suffering, and I actually was able to become a better producer. Now, my songs were more correct. The wolf in sheep's clothing, got me for my dollars, but a fellow artist gave me the knowledge that I needed to move forward. Although the introduction of this next song is a bit off, the rest of the song is nicely performed and written by "Big Bro." Big Bro, was not present at the time of the release of this song. I emphasized

I came up with "First Through The Gates."

Yes, this was a jaw-dropper! It had seemed almost classic! I thought to myself then, this wolf of promoters could have shared some insight. I don't think it was worth the wrongdoing that was done; lesson learned. The lead engineer had said this; also, they didn't trust fast talkers.

What are your steps in the producing music from scratch, as an electronic musician?

The following steps are for setting up an easy-to-use plug-in and play studio. Does such an idea exist yet? I am sure some musical or media creators have constructed such an idea.

When I was younger, I lived alone. My gear was right next to my bed. My Art Institute of Houston instructors taught me never to turn off professional equipment. Thinking back to that conversation now, I think they may have said it if the equipment might not turn on when you need it most. After hearing that, I never turned off the equipment, making music creation easy.

Today or these days, things are much different. I no longer have the same setup, but the concept is similar. My smartphone is my mobile studio, but how I listen to or monitor my music is off a track. I still would have to plug up to listen to sounds on the monitors for accurate mixing. I'm not being lazy, or at least I am thinking of a more convenient way to keep fresh ideas. Bluetooth monitors have been on my mind, lately.

I actually have a Bluetooth loudspeaker; I can hear it! Like the saying "Eyeball it," proper measurement (improper measurement) is done without using measurement tools.

If possible, it would have to be a surround sound setup. That may not work out well for the smartphone. I do not think that there is a surround sound function in the mobile version of GarageBand. I haven't checked to see if there is a surround sound function for the full version, either. If so, then this will be a topic to cover in a future blog.

Logic Pro definitely has surround sound functionality. I've used it a few times; it's not an impaired function, but I should utilize it more often. As the years have passed by, my taste in music has changed. I used to live for that ground-shaking sub-bass. Now, I prefer to have clarity in the notes being played by the bass section much more than I care for that sub-bass sound. It sounds cool in the cars in other lanes around my vehicle, just not in my vehicle. As you get older, you will want to conserve your hearing. Those sounds create fantastic vibrations for a well-needed back massage, and according to the officers of the law, you may very well receive a citation for noise pollution.

Upon repairing a vehicle, I called myself cleaning up and removing devices and clutter that might get in my mechanic's way. I also lost my Bluetooth receiver, so now I plug in my wired headphones into my smartphone and give it a go as I defensively drive down the street, from point A to Z, then back home to A. I occasionally listen for unwanted parts in my draft songs, making a note to change them up when I can after my drive.

Honestly, I think in many ways, and I thought you could do a rough mix to a final one on just about any decent speakers if you know how the music should sound. There is no actual template for mixing correctly. I have made an accurate mix of non-professional PCs and media speakers. I watched my first audio engineer and trainer do it several times. After you get the basics of your mix predominantly done on your studio monitors, you can grab and tweak a pair of media monitors. This way, every person listening to whatever device they can hear your music on can listen pleasingly without distortion, in all thoughts of the use of monitoring. A good pair of studio monitors will work just as fine, especially if multiple monitors are not included in your budget.

Still, though, I'd like to have a setup where I can sit in front of my TV and have a professional monitoring system in place whenever it hits me. I am sure that possibly there is a person who has a similar experience as I do, when an idea of creation hits. You have got to get up and find your tools ASAP, but most times, before you get the gear going, the idea has already left. You're almost in complete despair because that seemed like it was the song of the week.

That is the whole purpose of this blog post today. Be prepared for that what-if moment when you feel the beats and instruments playing in your mind. You feel the emotions of the artists singing on the hooks. If it's a rapper, rapping with their most total possible potency, that will cause the fans to almost get up out of their seats in an uproar, then that was that instrumental to start it all off, but ok, you couldn't get in there to the monitoring system to hear that playback like you wanted to listen to it. Last night's session was a mediocre experience, and everything was a drift. Something was off, but today is a new day, and you hadn't felt this way in weeks. It's a spiritual moment, and you push ahead, and guess what? Yeah! You got that Bluetooth set up; finally, once you have gotten the idea, you simply go into your settings on your phone, find your Bluetooth devices, select your monitors, and create.

Once you are satisfied with what you have just put together, you can air-dump into the complete program. Guess what now? There is no wiring to deal with; only disconnect and reconnect another device to the same Bluetooth monitors. Only this go-round will you have a more powerful DAW. You beefed up the sound and called a few artists to shop what's available in the entire mix now and get a feel for what they are looking for. Play your current most available sectlection. If you happen to speak to your top artist, you may slip up with this new beat. Either way, as a good producer, you want to hear their thoughts and listen to the criticism. Especially if you dislike it. Now I've got the grit, now I got butter in the digital in process.

In fact, for me, it's not ever my favorite work; it has always been my current selection that was a work in progress. That I least liked and never thought any better of it, but let it be the day K-Do was in the lab with me listening to some beats, and then he heard the instrumental track for "One Night, the Original." Almost a year later in 2002, we done a remix, I haven't released it yet. The original version is still building a bug on YouTube. Explicit lyrics for adult ears only; I recently placed the song (s) on YouTube this past year, 2023. We have built at least 100+ views and buildings. Sure, that's not a lot, but when I had the Fantasy, the name of the song's album was on. When it was on another website, a producer site, there was little to no buzz. Plus, the album was under the band name of "da Madd Nation." From Houston, Texas, to surrounding areas like Fort Bend County, Texas. This song wasn't much of anything to me, but the artists turned it into a complete masterpiece. It featured artists "Big Bro," and "David Everson" on vocals.

For those of you in Houston, Texas, and surrounding states, I am sure you are familiar with Marcus Jones. At his co-owned studio, this song was recorded right there in Stafford, Texas. It was a long night, but we got it done.

 I was going!

I was going…

I was going to write about saving money on your most sought-after version of a mobile studio. A digital audio workstation would be the most successful option to have, these days. The virtual studio, is as powerful as having all the gear right before you physically as it is virtually; only if it is mobile, you save a lot of time and space.

I did mention mobile. Like a mobile device, such as a laptop? Not likely. I see mobiles in the form of tablets or smartphones. Why not a computer? I witnessed this in my studio days when the professional music producer came prepared with his mobile PC and microphone choice. This was a new thing to see a producer do. They would often bring a two-track stereo mix down of their music. Dump it on the tracking device of the studio and continue to lay vocals and additional instrumentals on other tracks. If I remember correctly, the music producer might educate the audio engineering staff on what DAW they were using and what other plugins besides the native plugins.

It should always be a skill set issue when recording music, but I have found that every person has a specific sound that they're trying to put forward. Like myself, I would say that I was trying to bring hidden sounds to the track. Without giving it a second thought, maybe it's not a secret note as much as it is just a chord progression. It aligns with an engineering tech, who heard the difference between 96 KHZ and 192 KHZ—looking back to my days of tracking music. Of course, that is a story all to itself entirely. For the sake of continuing the topic at hand, a complete mobile studio with a fully functional DAW, able to record on the spot, even if it's just vocals, vocals with the correct pitch, how fast or slow, and at what volume you are singing, humming, or rapping a hook. Grabbing a piece of paper and writing down your idea is not good enough. After you write down that moment, that's all you have left after a long day. When you get home or make it to the studio, you only have what you wrote down on paper. By this time the, everything inspirational in those notes is gone; no matter how hard you try to remember , it doesn't come to your mind. Now you are basically looking at lyrics and nothing to track.

Many things are disappointing, but being unable to recall that moment exactly as you heard it from the heart, is terrible. As of yet, as you know it, that was your breaking into the industry song! Wow! I can not believe that I didn't think of recording that tune in my mind on my phone. Why didn't I choose to record the sounds in my head?

I write this because my most ideal way to record music is on the Desktop and or laptop, but you have to wait until you are sitting in front of the computer. The only available option is the mobile device. I am pro-Apple and a significant fan of the iPhone or any Apple product. I can say that most professionals use Apple products in their professions. I have seen some PC users and Android devices in the arena of media creation, but it's rare from attending art schools to spending too many hours in the studio. Sitting next to the mixing board, there also was a Mac, Macbook Pro, iMac, or even an iPad Pro, depending on the configuration of the setup. Mobile devices are so robust these days that you don't need that larger equipment as much as you need a smartphone. Once again, skill set or just simply knowledge of how to operate a DAW, will help you keep that performance idea in check.

Once you understand how to utilize the onboard tools of your smartphone, you can begin to grasp the unlimited possibilities of what you can do. You will hear me say this several times. My music producer, and yes, I have a music producer. I saw him literally create a complete beat for any song right before my eyes. I was like, I did know that was possible on a smartphone. When I had an Android smartphone, I tried my best to find apps to download from the Play Store. There were many four tracks with eight or more track counts. They did have some unknown brand of what might be a DAW, but most of those that I read on, didn't provide for my needs. They were more like digital tape recorders. There was a software from Magix, but nothing like their PC version software.

On the iPhone, it automatically comes with Apple's Light edition version of its flagship DAW Logic, which is Garage Band. This DAW is on a professional-grade software made for professional applications. Not only could I record a thought, but I could set the timing., and gate the internal onboard microphones. I could even locate a drum track loop. To keep that feel in motion. Now, I could have recorded the voice and kept the tunes in mind on virtual tape, but in Garage Band. I could do more than just have the vocal working. If I have time, then I could start creating a drum track, add a bass line, and then multi-track the melody on top of the vocal. All of this could be done within minutes on your mobile device and then auto-save later after you are done.

You can always come to your session anytime and build your idea, until you are satisfied with your sound. What's so awesome about being pro-Apple is that. Using mobile, however powerful it is for mobile, you can airdrop your complete project to the larger machines and the more fuller version of Garage Band and complete your instrumental. I will then, at a later time, open the saved Garage Band session in Logics for further operations once I have finished the instrumental. By now, I am ready to record vocals or re-record the original vocal idea to give it a more professional sound. Yet none of this would have been made possible if I had never taken the first step to record the vocal on my smartphone .

I hope that you have enjoyed my thoughts of the day,

Cheers!

It's madness I say, to see our hard earned tax paying dollars go into the pockets of those who decide to jump up to the mountain top. My thoughts are: wow! Look at them fly up there to the top with ease. It has been a good struggle of a climb for myself and others. I often dream of being able to fly upwards, but I wouldn't be as strong as I am, if I done such a thing. I prefer not to have an easy come, easy go moment of or in entrepreneurship mentality. I have always worked for what I wanted and when I couldn't acquire whatever I was in pursuit of then I scratched my head in wonder. As the old saying goes, then I went back to the drawing board. Recalibrated and went for the supposed to be goal for that strategy.

As far as I know, for those who skeem their way forward, don't always get there, as they plan. It seems that they tend to make others the victim's of their clever doings of evil. Or at least they make an attempt to do such a thing.. Nope! I refuse to become one of these who takes on the misfortune of a bandit who has no good intentions for his fellow man.

I meditate on there being justice for all!

My favorite Tools of all times

My first start, of course, as many kids, was toy musical instruments. My parents and my mom's dad were all musically inclined. My mom and her dad, both played the piano. My dad sang Bass. There was always some kind of instrument in the home. However, I never really took a notice of anything to sit down and examine it, to see if there was a fit. It was an electric guitar that belonged to my uncle, who had given me an electric guitar, or I thought it was given to me until he returned it and gave it to my younger cousin, his daughter.

In 8th grade, in music class, all of the students were given this plastic wind instrument, called a Recorder. It wasn't all that, but it became my first accurate instrument. I can play it, not just blow air into it just to hear it make noise. It's not my favorite instrument, though. I like the keyboards that sequence multiple tracks.

You could say, Donnie, that's not even an instrument. Possibly yes or no; it's all in how you see it and play it. I never took out the time to learn to play the drums, nor have I cared to do so. The drums were a set of toys, and when I could play them again, it was no longer a set of drums. It was a drum machine. I have had more drum machines and modules than laying my eyes on more than one drum set. When I built my first project studio, I considered the padded version, which looked like an electronic version of an actual drum set. It would pair well with the artists who loved to play, drums. They would seldom come through, and I felt that I could do a much better job with drum machines and modules instead, which also was the less expensive option.

Time and technology creep, almost an electronic musician's nightmare. If you remember not to update your PC or Apple computer, you might make it through an unwanted, expensive disaster. Computer security updates are a necessity for computer maintenance, and they would include minor updates. In the world of music creation, you want nothing to do with it. If you are using audio interfaces, there is an excellent chance that the update would cause you more problems on top of your daily problems with ongoing studio issues. You may have spent mid-hundreds to a couple of thousands on your audio interface alone, not including the software to operate it. Once you update your PC or Mac/Apple computer, there's almost negligible to no chance of returning to its previous software version. I am sure that a computer geek will disagree. Common sense should've stopped you from doing that, but your focus is on creating.

These were the refining years. Yes, when using multiple pieces of equipment to make up your studio. The brains of or heart of your studio, besides you yourself. Was your CPU, but which do you choose? I was a great fan of HP; it was fast, and I loved using Creative Lab's Sound Blaster—24-bit 96KHZ, recording and playback. Onboard sound cards may have had the possibility of giving you the same qualities , but in my opinion, there was no comparison at that time. You were paired with a Korg D1600 digital i/o, a Roland SP-808 Groove Sampler, plus a Korg Trinity workstation. I had a Sure dynamic mic, and some cheaply made condenser microphones. My DAW-Digital Audio Workstation, was what I called a high-end consumer. It only became professional software if you knew how to go inside the settings and tweak it to your liking, which you did. Suppose you wanted that unique sound to set you apart from the rest. This was a mixture of components you might similarly find in other local studios.

This was Magix music. maker, the current promoter and one of my best friends, insisted that I take time from my mad house set up and explore the digital studio. I was like, no, no, no, that's ok. I like what I have already. What I had already was somewhat all together on that disc. I just had to take a look and see it for myself. It had anywhere from 8 to 16 tracks available for multitracking. Onboard mixer, effects, it was a complete studio in a box. It even had its very own mastering suite; every DAW, has its version. Wow, it made everything so much more fluent. I eventually and gradually moved away from my first setup. I started to replace units from analog to digital equipment.

I have been in places to where the mixing board alone took up half the room, then the analog processors. Wires and cables are all over the place. I hated patch bays with a great passion, and it was kind of cool once I got used to using them, by the time I was getting comfortable with patch bays. They were becoming obsolete. Software programs like "REASON" were moved in with digital patch bays. This made things move along faster, not having to deal with actual cables and not having to hear that unwanted feedback noise.

I believe that Cakewalk may have been the very first DAW, but I didn't start there on a more Professional level. By this time, another friend was promoting his ideal tool of the moment. I'd love to say that he was so grateful for it to give you, your dream track count—a full 24-track studio, complete with everything needed to produce an album. The only disappointment to digital and analog, was the authenticity of the warmth that came with the analog machines. Depending on how keen you're in listening to those analog machines. It would determine how close you could get to replicating that warmth in your recording mix. Now, we have plugins that sound precisely like the actual analog processors.

Yes, the famous "Pro Tools!" That day, Pro Tools was the premium studio to have, and it became a significant game changer. If you had a studio with clients, it could have possibly changed your plans for the year. Independent artists and record labels, were on the rise. This was the end of expensive studio sessions, and worries if the local studio producer stole your hard work, because of brownouts, during your sessions. These things would occur at times. Or you could sit back and watch other artists in the studio waiting for their time, but writing down your lyrics. That was not going on in the more professional establishments, of course. The professional studios had their situations as well. Gear breaking down in the middle of the sessions. Now we all have to stop to watch the Second audio engineer go wild on the equipment, and I thought he was banging on an old television set from the 80s, the way he was carrying on. I felt like maybe this was a bad idea.

With Pro Tools, all of that extra unwanted stuff was eliminated. All of what you needed was in the box. The only thing I did not care for was the audio interface; I have had more than my share of audio interfaces. These were our growing pain stages; you loved the DAWs; it saved money and space, but it also was a reason for artists to get away from those skilled in equipment, recording, and mixing. Almost any person can record and mix, but to master. Mastering is an art, that very few know how to do. There is software that can give you radio-ready masters. You still needed that polishing on the end before your release. As an audio or media creator, you know what you want and how you want to affect the audience. You know what you want to feel in the automobiles or at home in your den or living room, with surround sound.

That particular feature has become a reason why I no longer use Pro Tools. It had served its purpose , just like Magix did for me. I entered the world of Digital audio workstations with Magix, making it easy to understand Pro Tools.

Pro Tools could create a surround sound mix, but it was an expensive endeavor for me then. The time I progressed forward. I was making music on and off then; I needed help where I couldn't afford service. So, I became the personnel required to get the job done. In doing so, this led me to other areas of doing business. Long story short, I became a Media Communicator. After graduating from Full Sail University, I was on a new path with Knowledge and new tools to speak a message to the masses. I was not even using any high-priced and bulky equipment .

As time moved, I found myself looking for a way to become better at creating more than music, but where would I gain this Knowledge? I remember a customer talking about Full Sail University . For whatever reason, I didn't choose music or Audio production. That would have seemed like the clear choice, but I had already been in the studios and learned from professionals, who were earning livable income from it. I instead chose Media Communications. Since I had to take on other positions or pick up additional skills to move the recording label forward, it was a clear choice to make.

I had done my research, before attending school. I had pre-selected a DSLR but rarely used it for video and photos. They taught the class how to use your most reachable tool. It will always be within reach and, depending on your nautical know-how, determines how fast you can catch the most heightened moment. This tool would be a smartphone. At that time, I had one of LG's phablets; it was awesome! We will choose how well we use our tools depending on our acquired skills.

I was able to attract a music producer who liked my very first gospel/Christian rap song. "Who knows?" I made it on my first setup. He really liked the song, and maybe a month or so later. He came back and made a beat right there on his iPhone. I was shocked by him making an entire instrumental, mixed and ready for vocals on his smartphone. I took it and recorded songs on my current DAW, which was Logic Pro. While in school, I had a desktop version of Pro Tools, but it for some reason, didn't work as well as Apple's Logic Pro, on the Apple computer. The same friend who had brought up Pro Tools, mentioned Logic Pro; he said, Logic is hard. I thought he meant challenging to operate. No, he indicated that it was superior to other DAWs; this was my favorite DAW now.

Apple's Logic Pro is the game changer for me, and I'm sure other media creators feel the same. With this DAW, you only need the processing power, enough drive space, and the know-how.

From a room filled with equipment worth the sum of tens of thousands, to a box containing software and hardware, worth a little under a thousand. To a single computer and smartphone, where the prices vary based on the user's preferences. Still, it is an excellent tool for those skilled in their craft.

I hope you have enjoyed my look at the tools of my previous ventures, audio to media communications .

Cheers!

If I remember correctly, this is the first logo.

I was like one. , if not the slowest runner on all of my football teams. Freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior years. Maybe not junior varsity and varsity. I had gained some speed by then, not much, but just a bit. Anyway, I always felt like I was the team's turtle. It just so happens that if you remember the story about the “The Hare and the Tortoise.” No matter how fast the Hare ran, but steadily taking breaks and rest stops along the way, he lost to the self-paced and persistence of the Tortoise. This was my campaign for the turtle on my label as a logo. In fact, it really represents our publishing company, more so than the recording label. It does look pretty cool though.

Well, cheers to the founding father of "da Madd Nation." D The B. Now, of course, I think of the music organization from Southwest Houston, Texas, the 3rd Coast. And Not the organization from the West Coast. Which is always an unlikable moment of thought that you and another person have the same name. They formed in the 80s, and we started in the 90s. I had recently found that out after the release of our first album, Demo-9. Being our very first presence on the internet and that it was more of a mix tape. I pulled it off the shelves, but not before selling six copies, globally. I felt that it was not a good mix.

It did break the ice for us, help us find the inner strengths that we needed to push out better quality music. We didn't know it at that time, but this would lead to the begging of our own studio and the recording label, B.O.O.F.A.M. Beggining Our Own Flavor And Mood. Which totally fit the artist mentality towards life.

I don't believe that “D The B” stole and ran with the idea, the name; he was too patriotic about the terms that sprang from the name: MADD! If anyone outside the rap and R&B group uttered the word MADD, in a conversation, he would get a bit upset. I thought it was an excellent way to express ownership.

To me, somehow how, in a way, it was also claiming our brotherhood.

As our high school Football coach would say, (the padded version, and not soccer), Coach Hernandez, would say to the team. You guys are not only teammates. You all are a family of brothers. You all take care of each other. And that we did. We prayed, ate and drank, and sometimes partied together. Even for those of us who were dating, went on dates together. As far back as I can remember, it may very well be a reason why we had such a strong bond.

When you have a strong bond, you can perform better on the team, for the four-and-a-half years of school. At least for me, I had done too much partying than I should have still, though we have an excellent brotherhood of love and have been able to support each other in some form or fashion. Even to this day, Though we are not all in contact with each other like a phone call, but social media post suits me well, and I'm sure with all of our busy lifestyles and family lives, it may do them well to say the same..

Having that strong bond afforded us the accountability. To give each other support in areas where maybe, if they were not there, things could have turned negative very fast. Every person has their stressful moments, and with having another person to give you a pep talk to keep pushing forward is what most of us need to hear in those downtime instances when we don't feel too sure about what is to happen next or if we want to attempt the next step.

Somehow, thinking back, it reminds me of Church support or the Christian. Family in God, or at least that is the biblical intent. For those in Christ, God Most High, is the father of all in existence. Instead, you are good or evil. The supernatural and true God, Father. Right? Almost every person living as an adult in the Americas has seen the famous movie "The Godfather." I am making a slight parallel, just a minor statement. In the film, the original Godfather.

He has three sons and a daughter. Of all three boys, two don't turn out to be the dominant son who takes over the family business. One of them was nowhere near being qualified for the position. However, the other brother was not a candidate because he was too emotional . The only other possible person left was the youngest and most strategic of them all. Ironically, it just now reminds me of the second King of Israel, right? King David, he was least expected to be selected, let alone become the next King of Israel.

Michael's dad, said in the movie, that he never wanted that life for him. Instead, he wanted him to be legal and more political as a strength and power for the family. It is a close similar, slight, but close. How do I see it? David was almost the runt compared to his brothers. He was the shepherd boy, but he had the heart to do what was right. Michael had the heart to stand by his dad and not run away like a coward. He had military training, plus his love for his dad.

It is a similar to David, but set apart in a different time setting. Nonetheless, they have the same qualities. They are both the younger brothers, have the hearts of Lions, and are both passionate about their families. In a different moment of time in David's life, he had a similar training in battle to prepare him for a greater battle. Remember him telling King Saul, that he lost one sheep. Realizing this after counting his father's sheep. He then hid the other sheep in a safe place, went looking for the lost one, when he found the lost sheep, he found the sheep in the mouth of a bear. Then he mentioned the same scenario with a Lion. He treated both sitions the same, he said to King Saul, your servent then grabbed the bear or the lion by the hair and slew it. This was the act of a warrior, he personally grabbed the fur of either apex predator and with his dagger, he slew it to death. This is the back story of David's preparation for his battle with the giant.

This was David's validation to King Saul, to relieve the King's worries about David's survival in battle against the 9-foot tall giant, named Goliath. In which David used a sling and a stone. This was David's weapon of choice, something he was accustomed to, we could say that he was an expert with it. He was accurate when he hit his target on point and dropped the giant, plus he managed to think quick afterwards by cutting off the head of the giant. Not only proving that the giant was no more a threat, but that he personally destroyed the giant. for no one on his side was willing to go anywhere near Goliath.

The prophet who was sent to anoint the next King of Israel, would not have selected David the shepherd boy as a candidate for the position of King. Man's thoughts are simple, or until he becomes aware of a person's inner strength until they are brought through some kind of testing. Samuel would have chosen one of David's older brothers, for he perceived them tall and strong looking, this is what a King would look like, but the Lord knew David's heart.

In the Godfather movie, the Dad was to witness which son would fill his position and move the family forward. Either way, both God Jehovah, the Most High, and there is none like him. As I said, the comparison was based on a human vs a human quality. I can say that The Most High God, is the father and king of all Gods. I can say that there is a prince of Light and a prince of darkness, it is God's kingdom that rules over all the kingdoms in heaven, on earth, and in the underworld.

A spiritual monarchy, ruling over all life and death in the spiritual and physical . At this current moment the Prince of peace rules over all things, it is the father God in him and not in the Prince of Darkness. Out of the two powerful princes, is their heart, their inner strengths. there is one prince that chose to rebel and take a third of the angelic host with him. Which we read in the word of God, to be fallen Angels. Then there is the obedient son, who chose to obey his father, who we the Christian Nation, know as Jesus Christ. According to Psalms 110, he sits on his own throne, on the right hand side of the father God Yahweh (Jehovah).

This Prince is the Lord of the universe. It is my overstanding that his choice to obey his father and do what is righteous. His choice afforded him greatness.

Moving Sl'o, honestly SL'O does not mean slow. I have used it for that purpose a few times. Originally it referred to the supreme God. We never hear from him verbally as we speak to each other, yet he speaks in various ways. The ideal parent is the supreme parent of all living and dead. He is lethal because every move he makes is exact and without flaw. His judgment is justice and fair. You can only hope that mankind would take up such a standard to live by and stick with it. On a spiritual level of understanding, we are one with Jesus because of the indwelling of his spirit, our helper, the Holy Spirit. Jesus and his father, our heavenly father, God Jehovah, are one. Silent Lethal One hence SLO.

Now I thought of SL'O in 1995, but more so my very first business name, and then I thought of it as SLO Man Productions. Which is currently the name of our Publishing Company with BMI.

Yet, I am moving slowly; I have run out of juice...unfortunately. I'm moving no faster than a turtle over here.

Thank you for the visits, that's love.

It is much easier to talk it than walk it. Oh no sir/mam, not I, but for me, it is more of a challenging thought in mind more than the talk. Ever since my awakening up from an induced coma of 18 days on the ventilator, because of Covid-19. I have mentally felt the need to not just push, but push hard to get ahead. This mindset has been with me since that time. March 20, 2020, is the night I went into the Hospital, and May 15, 2020, is when I left the rehabilitation hospital. All in all the experience required much faith and determination. From having many thoughts of what to do with this second chance at life. Of all things I felt a need to do most was to put the music, I had ready for release out there. I would like to say as soon as I could get my tablet charged up and back into the flow of things, then I released, "You Ain't Supposed 2," that very month.

I had accomplished while in my career time as a bus Operator. 2003-07 a Master Certification in Music Business and Technology from Berklee Music Online. I needed to know more about the business and while attending the school, I aligned B.O.O.F.A.M. with the class assignments and the recording label had become official at that time. In these years, by now any and every musical person with the help of any size and capable PC or Mac would become the home of a DAW- Digital Audio Workstation. Which was the ideal situation for a person who knows their way around a studio. Because you now had a complete studio inside your computer.

As a recording label owner, as an independent sound producer. Most say music producer, but I feel this would be more fitting, considering that I only play one instrument from the woodwinds section, the Recorder. I rarely pick it up and play, I have become lazy in my creation methods. As soon as I gained my way to play a Keyboard in the area of a 16 track sequencer type of board anything had become possible with sound design. And now even more so, with a DAW, you literally have a complete band in the box. For the creative mind, you are unlimited as to what you create. In fact, let's take it away and back. We will go to our smartphones and mobile devices. Remember, I released my single song on my tablet. The song was created on my MacBook Pro and a colleague of mines created a beat for me on his cellphone, as a demo song for a possible recording deal. In a matter of a decade in a half, the big 24 track reel to the reel recording studio was condensed down to a PC or Mac desktop, laptop, or mobile device. Your sound or mic booths went from a walk-in closet-sized room to a filter that could stand in an open room connected to your microphone stand. Well recording vocals and external sounds can also be determined by the type of microphone you are using as well and you may not have a need for either booth or filter, but your sound dynamics and acoustic room treatment should be in place. If you are looking to have a professional sound quality at the finish line.

All that said, still, it is easier said or thought of, than done.
